BELLEVUE, WA – Since it was founded in 1998, the Oregon Firearms Federation (OFF) has epitomized grassroots activism, and the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is pleased to announce the organization is our newest Beaver State affiliate.
“Especially over the past few years, with all of the anti-gun-rights activity in Salem and Portland, we can say without a doubt that the Oregon Firearms Federation, and its leader Kevin Starrett have been incredibly busy, fighting the good fight,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “OFF has kept Oregon gun owners apprised of every move the gun prohibition crowd has made, and it is that kind of devotion which makes the organization’s affiliation so important to us.
“To watch Starrett and OFF at work is nothing short of remarkable,” Gottlieb continued. “With comparatively limited resources, OFF goes up against the increasingly well-financed gun control lobby and their allies in the state legislature and never skips a beat.”
From its beginning, OFF has been the “no-compromise” voice for gun owners south of the Columbia River. Over the past three-plus decades, the organization has butted heads with some of the Pacific Northwest’s most extreme anti-gunners, and OFF has the political scars to prove it. As noted on the organization’s website, “Starrett has produced the most complete source for information on Oregon’s gun laws. OFF volunteers staff gun shows all around Oregon and provide up to the minute information on pending and existing legislation.” To join or donate to OFF, Oregon gun owners can visit their website here.
“One thing we’ve watched over the years is the Federation’s willingness to fight, even when the odds seem overwhelming,” Gottlieb observed. “Where some might consider something a ‘lost cause,’ Starrett and the Oregon Firearms Federation have always demonstrated a determination to roll up their sleeves and stay on the front lines.
“As the Citizens Committee continues to expand its activities,” he stated, “having affiliates like the Oregon Firearms Federation engaging in boots-on-the-ground activism will become increasingly important. Defending the Second Amendment is a full-time job, and in Oregon, it’s become something of a contact sport! You won’t find bench-warmers at OFF, and we’re delighted to welcome them aboard.”
