H.R. 2620, called the Federal Firearms Licensee Protection Act of 2023, alters chapter 44 of title 18 to impose higher minimum and maximum penalties for stealing guns from firearms dealers.
By increasing the minimum sentence for burglary to 3 years, for robbery to 5 years and the maximum from 10 years to 20 years, it helps deter criminals from stealing from firearms dealers or locks them up longer if they do.
This effectively helps keep guns out of the hands of criminal without infringing on our rights.
