The 15th annual Gun Rights Policy Conference (GRPC) is expected to be huge as gun owners from across the country join together with gun rights leaders on September 29, 30 & October 1, 2000 at the Crystal City Marriott in Arlington, Virginia. This year’s FREE conference will highlight lessons learned from recent court and legislative battles and provide gun owners with necessary skills to defend themselves against hysterical anti-gun foes in the media, classrooms, courtrooms and legislative entities.

The 2000 GRPC is entitled “Target Victory!” and this theme is one of the main reasons the conference will be held in Washington, D.C. area. This year’s elections will be paramount for deciding the fate of gun ownership in this country both in the legislative bodies and in the courtrooms.

“Imagine how four Supreme Court Justices appointed by the new Gore Administration would interpret the Second Amendment in the Emerson case appeal,” warned Alan Gottlieb, SAF Founder. “I am terrified what will happen to our rights if we don’t produce another watershed year like 1994. We must join together like never before and Target Victory!”

In addition to discussing election prospects for gun owners, GRPC will have panel discussions and questions & answers on a wider variety of crucial topics including: Defining the Second Amendment – Emerson Case Update; SAF’s lawsuits against State and Federal ‘Assault Weapon’ Bans; Future of “Shall Issue Concealed Carry Reform & National Concealed Carry Reform; Status of SAF’s Lawsuit Against the Mayors; Gun Grabber Strategies & Agendas; Can Gun Shows Survive?; Federal, State and Local Updates; plus much, much more.

The speakers list for GRPC’ 2000 will read like the who’s who of the nationally recognized gun rights leaders. Past speakers have included: Senator Bob Smith, Congressman Bob Barr, Congresswoman Helen Chenoweth, Congressman Phil Crane, Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell, nationally syndicated radio talk show hosts G. Gordon Liddy, Blanquita Cullem and Ken Hamblin, NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre, SAF Trustee Massad Ayoob and noted scholars such as; David B. Kopel, Stephen Halbrook, Don Kates, plus dozens of others.

“GRPC is a person’s best chance to meet many of the national gun-rights leaders in one place and ask them about their opinions and strategies for the future of the gun-rights movement,” stated John Barnett, SAF Executive Director and Conference Coordinator. “These same top leaders will also be at the GRPC to listen to your personal ideas and goals.”

“Anyone who considers themselves a gun-rights’ activist or wants to become one cannot afford to miss the GRPC 2000. The stakes are too high and many battles are too close to call,” stated Gottlieb. “Many past participants of GRPC return year after year to stay current on all the ongoing efforts to keep our precious right to keep and bear arms.”

“One new feature we have continued with is the opportunity for SAF members to submit ideas and suggestions for conference agenda items to be discussed,” said John Barnett. Agenda item submissions must be postmarked by July 31, 2000. Any member whose submission is used at GRPC will receive a personally autographed copy of Alan Gottlieb’s latest book, Politically Correct Guns.
